Initiator Jirka Pfahl samples works of his colleagues Bea Meyer, Kai Kauerhof, Karl Rueskäfer, Jan-Axel Bleicher und Sebastian M. Kretzschmar. In the developing 'art remix', the line between an independent authorship, trusteeship and artistic productional process begins to blur. (Leipzig-Life.de, 05/2003)

SOLD should be considered as a state that also can be understood as a subject of irony. Regarding Leipzig as location of the presentation of this temporary gallery project, this can by all means serve as seal for a critical comment. The location was created as display for various works of the above mentioned artists. The spatial situation is a consistently repetitive display with a recombination of the available unsold works that, after a short exhibition period (three exhibitions in three weeks) becomes the background of the stage or a storage place.

Explanatory note to the recombination:
The idea for SOLD was developed from the possibility to transfer your own artistic approaches to other people and to expand the claim of your artistic production to another environment. I requested the artist to present his work at SOLD under the restriction that it is me who develops and realizes the work and who clinches it in the context of SOLD with my own statement. In this way I was able to create the chance to source out approaches just as the working process was copied.
According to this script I implemented a group exhibition (poster, invitations, press releases).
